From the ground up.

Kindra did a complete rebrand and came to us with some specific requests as both photography and video were an important part of her new brand. Part of her new brand was to get away from the stereotypical realtor headshots and to redefine what people should expect when working with her. A cornerstone piece of this is the “Who is Kindra?” short film.

Headshots are an important part of a professional’s needs but when the entire brand is one person you can’t get away with just one image. She wanted a collection of images to use across her branding and website—something that showed her authenticity.

Her clients love her for her knowledge, ability to go to the bargaining table and get a great deal, and helping them from start to finish. She doesn’t just show up, take a few photos, and place a sign on the lawn. Walking around in a pant suit and heels everyday are not the vibes she wants.

So together we agreed on a more casual look and chose her outfits based on her brand colours. We photographed in a house but didn’t make it about the house. We mixed up a few options, like sitting on a few pieces of simple furniture, and then just started to shoot.

In most projects, what makes the images what they are all happens before the first button click. You can take a picture of something beautiful and people will say it’s a beautiful photo but it takes a bit of communicating with the client and art direction to really get what they’re going for.

“Working with the team at Studio D has been one of the best marketing decisions I’ve made.”
